The Netherlands among the top 15 travel destinations

The Netherlands ranked among the fifteen best travel destinations in the world. According to a report by the World Economic Forum.

The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report was presented for the fourth consecutive year. In this large scale research the quality of the tourism sector was reviewed in 139 countries worldwide.

Safety, (cultural) attractions, scenery, infrastructure, price levels, investment in tourism and hygiene were measured in terms of criteria.

Switzerland ranks number one for the fourth consecutive time. The report praises the Swiss organized nature, its natural beauty and excellent facilities. The top ten is completed by (from high to low) Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, the United States, Britain, Spain, Canada and Singapore.

Notable is Montenegro. The country ranks now 36th from the 52nd place.

The Netherlands scores especially high in the criterea of transport and hygiene. But got a lower score on price levels and natural beauty. The contribution of tourism to the growth of national income is expected to increase by 2.8 percent annually.

The U.S.A. ranked the top destination in America, followed by Canada, Barbados, Mexico and Costa Rica.

In Asia, Singapore ranks number one before Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The UAE topped the list in the Middle East, followed by Bahrain, Qatar, Israel and Tunisia.
